Also, if you do already have the book, make sure you're reading through the pattern & getting your fabric picked out. Since the first bag is such a big one, big prints are a great idea! I know there are a lot I love, but will never work on smaller bags & wallets. Now's the perfect chance to use them. Personally, I think I'll be using this nice home-decor weight I picked up at Ikea forever ago. I'm pretty sure I should have enough of it for the body of the bag!
